Did you know there's a Facebook page called "ADDICTED to CORNHOLE" with over 120,000 members?! And a podcast called "Big Asp Cornhole" We were amazed too! But hey, we're here to bring our own cornhole excitement to the park.

Get ready to hold a cool, refreshing pop, water or beer from the concession stand in one hand and a corn bag in the other, all while grooving to fantastic music by The Doctor Dougy Fever with friends. Launching the 2025 Cruise, Shoes & BBQs event series with the annual "Call of the Hogs" Poker Run on Saturday May 24! Get ready to hit the road for a purpose, as this year's run is dedicated to raising funds for the Lakota Beaver Family. Upon your return to Grainfield, treat yourself to mouthwatering food and a refreshing complimentary drink at the concessions stand. And that's not all – immerse yourself in the vibrant atmosphere with live rock music courtesy of Esper Winds, ensuring an unforgettable experience for all attendees!   Registration at 10am with kick stands up at 11am.   More information on the attached flyer. 

Imagine an event this weekend where your kids can enjoy all of this for free: laser tag, a pickleball tournament, a cornhole tournament, glow-in-the-dark horseshoes, a hot shot (basketball) competition, face painting, an activity table, a virtual reality roller coaster, reaction training lights, 9 square in the air, a gaga pit, dancing, sand volleyball, and basketball—all in a fun, safe environment.     

Plus, indulge in $1 candy, $1 pop, snow cones, and cool glow items like leis, finger lights, and hair accessories at unbeatable prices.

For just a little bit of money, they can also run a 5k and take aim at the dunk tank!   And don’t miss the hilarious Barnyard Races—jump into an inflatable farm animal costume and race the other animals... The Doctor is in.  Dr. Dougy Fever (Doug Manhart) is returning to the park this year! Get ready to groove as he spins those records and electrifies the airwaves.  "All right, Grainfield, it is time for this town to get *down*! Now, you got Dougy... Doctor Dougy Fever, and I am burnin' up here! Whoo! Whoo! We all in critical condition, babies, but you can tell me where it hurts, because I got the healing prescription here from the big CS&BBQ musical medicine cabinet. Now I am talking about your 50,000 watt intensive care unit, babies! So just sit right down, relax, open your ears real wide and say, "Give it to me straight, Doctor, I can take it!"" 

Let's dive into the car show, the "Cruise" in Cruise, Shoes & BBQs. We welcome everything with wheels (or wings or propellers)! From fancy cars to motorcycles, bicycles, unicycles, ATVs, UFOs (you never know!), tractors, buses, trains, planes, boats, submarines, and even five-row station wagons. If you’ve got a favorite ride and want to show it off, bring it to our show on Sunday, May 25. Registration is from 9-11 AM and only costs $20. That $20 gets you a goody bag filled with drinks and snacks to keep you from turning into a snickers commercial.

Our awards are as diverse as our entries, including Best of Show, "Chicks Dig It," "Most Likely to Get Muddy," and Best Badass Paint.  New this year: Best Rat Rod—for those rough and rowdy rides with serious character—and in honor of the Wheatland All-School Reunion, we’re adding Best Blast from the Past, awarded to the best WHS alumni vehicle that was cruisin’ back in their high school days.   We've got it all!

Throughout the years, we've witnessed some truly memorable volleyball team names! Now, we're throwing down the gauntlet and challenging you to assemble your own squad and let your creativity run wild with the name.

Pre-registration is a must by Wednesday, May 21.  text 785.640.2116 or email smfoster21@gmail.com.   We're looking for participants from the 2025-2026 freshman classes and older (but not too old — we can't handle any hefty medical bills).

Here are some classics to get your brainstorming started: "Safe Sets," "Two Bump Chumps," "I'd Smack That," "Notorious D.I.G.," "Spiked Punch," "Sandy Cracks," "Kinky Sets," "Sets on the Beach," and many more!

So, what's your favorite? Will you go with the playful vibe of 'Baby Dolls' or bring the heat with 'Bangkok Bananas #FeelThePeel'? The choice is yours, but whatever you decide, let's make it a game to remember!

Each 1’ x 3’ banner is a canvas for personalized tributes: their names, heartfelt messages, cherished memories, drawings, or photographs. Craft your own tribute or let GCDC bring your vision to life.

At the Cruise, Shoes & BBQs opening ceremony on Saturday, May 24th, at 6 PM, we'll gather for a dedication. You'll have the honor of hanging your banner to our memorial wall, ensuring their memory is forever etched in our hearts. If you're unable to attend the ceremony, don’t worry. You're welcome to hang your banner later that evening or on Sunday, May 25th. Alternatively, drop it off at 218 Main in Grainfield, and we'll ensure it's displayed.

The 3rd annual Cruise, Shoes & BBQs Pickleball Tournament! Taking place on Saturday, May 24th, starting at 4:30pm, it's bound to be a blast!

While we can't promise it'll be as intense as a competitive league in a retirement community, we can guarantee a fantastic time for all. We've even divided the tournament into two categories: Youth (12 and under) starting at 4:30 pm (registration by 4 pm) and Competitive starting at 6 pm (registration by 5:30 pm).

No need to pre-register!  Just simply showing up at 4 pm at the pickleball courts (basketball courts). And the best part? It's all FREE!

Plus, there are cool Cruise, Shoes & BBQs commemorative items up for grabs as prizes, along with gift certificates to the concessions for an ice-cold drink to cool down after the competition.

The fun starts after the Aloha Color Run at 8 PM, so stick around, throw on a hula skirt, and dance the night away with DJ Doug spinning the perfect mix of throwbacks and tropical tunes.

Get ready to close out the weekend with a bang at our FREE Sunday night dance featuring the electrifying Paramount 80s—one of the Midwest’s premier ‘80s tribute bands! They’ll take you back with all the biggest hits from Journey, Bon Jovi, Madonna, Def Leppard, and more. It’s high-energy, totally rad, and packed with neon nostalgia!

The party kicks off at 8 PM on Sunday, and we’re planning to dance the night away under the stars. But no worries—if the weather doesn’t cooperate, we’ll keep the fun going inside the American Legion.

Dust off those leg warmers, tease up your hair, and get ready to relive the greatest decade of music with a band that brings it all to life.
